Ideology vs Reality Poetry

Here I sit
Culmination of pure
Experience and understanding
And an inability to comprehend
All mixed in
They tell you
Seek and you shall fine
Exactly what you want
In life
Well
When it comes to relationships
That no longer applies
My principles changed
As I saw and weighed
The availability of womanhood these days
The answer was
A negligent case
I stared dumbstruck
Into truth’s face
All I wanted was
A woman
That was sexy and intelligent
My freaky, nasty whore
That was a chef and creative being
While understanding and accepting
Me just being me
And standing
By, for and behind
Me
I know
I expected too much
For one female to accomplish
Spoiled on a previous
Miraculous relationship
Reality set in
No one to accept the position
Abilities lacking
Disinterest in anything meaningful
Times changed
Females changed
Women died away
I was faced with reality
Punching me in the face
With a sledgehammer ferocity
Continue the dream
Of a woman that could
Be a woman with me
Or
Face the reality
That combining them like Legos
Is what society says it should be
And therefore by association
What options are left for me?
My heart use to weep
For that precious, dynamic
Meaningful woman
Relationship thing
Now
It merely beats
Silently
Because it has been shackled to
Truth and reality
Death to
That old
Ideology
