Sometimes
It creeps up on me
Other times
It is a full assaut
But my mind
Heart and
Memory
Remain
Encased in carbonite
Seeking to
Once again laugh in delight
Feel premeditated excitement
Know joy in life
Celebrated holidays and moments
With my wife
Cascade across a theater screen
That only I can feel and see
Leaving
Longing and feelings of disparity
Missing that light in life
Smoke filled haze
Of remembering causing
Blinding pain and rage
Now I am
Have become
This somber
Agent of decay
This idiom of
A foregone destiny
As these moments
Remain etched in eternity
Missing my Eternity
My best part of me
The metronome of life
Leaves me silenced
Like a vaudeville screen play
I remember
The joyous and exciting
Old days
As memories
A fallen destiny
Eat away at all of
Me
