A Break From Chivalry
I hear the whines and boo hoos
That chivalry is dead
Did you ever think
That we got tired of
Fighting both you and your enemies
Exhausting
That doesn’t cover it in the least
Rescue the damsel
Mend her heart
Counsel and reprogram her mind
Repeat and rewind
This is not a union job
No benefits
No vacation time
So when females complain
That there are no more knights in shining armor
To come sweep them off their feet
They retired to a relationship
Gave up on the pipe dream
Or just got burnt out on giving up everything
Chivalry is not dead
It has been transmuted
Just like you asked
Into a more portable entity
It is called
Equal opportunity
